Paper maps still essential

To the normal bystander the classic paper landmap seems old fashioned and out-dated. However, EuroCartografie has released a whole new line of landmaps together with partner Newco Europe. The maps carry the brand and logo of Onderweg.nl, a website focussed on providing information for the mobile consumer.

The classis maps are needed today to help consumers gain a bird's eye view of their surroundings, while their (portable) navigation device will only give them detailed information of their surroundings. A paper landmap is most often used next to navigation devices for general orientation and direction, so states prof. mr. Gregor van der Burght, professor at the Vrije Universiteit.

Cosmic Navigation supports this philosophy by supplying new customers who buy their Road Navigator navigation device with paper maps. "GPS and landmaps are not each other's enemies," says Jochem Kentgens, CEO of Cosmic," They complement each other".
